Well everyone knows that grief clouds the mind. And I have certainly had my share of grief in this world. I guess we all have this last year. But with grief comes rebirth, clarity, and new vision.
I few months ago, I thought I was going to have to “recover” from being a teacher. It’s true what they say: Teaching really is an identity. And I had a lot of questions about who I was if I was not teaching. Could I keep my Twitter handle @JLedTeach? What should I do with my blog Lead from -IN- the Classroom? Could I keep writing on Stories from School AZ?
It has been a journey. When I started that journey, full of hurt and fear, I called this blog “Recovering Teacher.” I don’t feel that way anymore.
In these past months, I have found that a teacher is still a teacher beyond the classroom. I have found that advancing the profession continues to be my mission. There will always be work to do.
And so I give you a rebranding of this blog. A rebirth for me, perhaps. I give you: Redefining “Teacher.”
More to come.
